Step 1: Estimate and Approval
Like all insurance-coordinated work, roof replacement starts with an appointment-based estimate. Once submitted, your adjuster reviews and approves the scope — this step's length is largely out of the shop's hands and depends on your carrier.
Step 2: Materials Ordering
Membrane roofing material is ordered to match your RV's make and model once insurance approves the scope. Material lead times vary by product and current supply, so the unit is scheduled into a bay once materials actually arrive rather than on a fixed date.
Step 3: Roof Removal and Inspection
Once materials arrive, the old roof is removed. This is often the point where hidden damage — soft decking, delamination around vents or AC units, water intrusion into the wall cavity — gets discovered. If it's found, the scope (and timeline) may need a supplemental approval from the adjuster before work continues.
Step 4: Replacement and Sealing
New membrane and decking (where needed) is installed, and every seam, vent, and roof penetration is resealed.
Step 5: Final Inspection and Pickup
The completed roof is inspected before the RV is released. Repairs are backed by a 60-day labor warranty.
