- Safety first. Move the unit out of traffic if possible and check for injuries. Call emergency services if needed.
- Document everything. Take clear photos of all damage, the other vehicle (if any), license plates, and the overall scene. Note the date, time, and location.
- Notify your insurance company. Report the claim promptly. Ask whether they have preferred RV body shops in the Rancho Cucamonga / Inland Empire area and whether you can choose your own repair facility.
- Choose a shop that understands RVs. Regular auto body shops often lack the experience and equipment for fiberglass caps, aluminum sidewalls, and RV-specific structural repairs. Look for a facility with enclosed bays, in-house paint capability, and a track record with major carriers.
- Get a professional estimate. Schedule an appointment so the damage can be properly evaluated. Bring any insurance claim number and adjuster contact information if you already have them.
